With LeBron James and Jaylen Brown on board and training camp set to begin in late September, we’re taking a look at key questions for the 2026-27 Sixers.

It’s not going out on a limb to say that the 2026-27 Sixers should have many paths to efficient offense. Head coach Nick Nurse and his stars will experiment and aim to find reliable routes by the time the playoffs roll around. Defensively, they’ll plan to establish a culture of consistent effort and adaptability.

Brown has the tools to boost the Sixers on both ends. He cares about day-after-day commitment, too.

“I think we’ll figure it out as time goes on, as we start to spend time with each other, get on the court and have conversations,” the 2024 NBA Finals MVP said at his introductory press conference in August. “But I’m excited to just be myself. That’s one thing I can promise the city, the organization and the coaching staff, that I’m going to come in every single day and be myself.

“Put my best foot forward, lead with my integrity, lead with my mentality and lead with my capacity and my will to win. So we’ll figure out the X’s and O’s, the ins and outs, but winning is the agenda. That’s the first thing that’s on my mind.”

Brown’s game has attracted a wide range of opinions in recent years. Whatever you make of his numbers, he has several major strengths the Sixers will plan to showcase.

The five-time All-Star is a strong driver who loves to pressure the defense in the open floor. He’s a powerful finisher who drew a career-best 7.5 free throws per game last season. The 29-year-old is capable of draining tough, tightly guarded shots and the Sixers surely won’t mind tossing him the ball late in the shot clock and asking him to generate offense.
