March is officially here, which means it’s only a matter of time before the madness ensues. With ACC Tournament seeding still in play, the UNC men’s basketball team is hoping for one final, successful week to close out its regular season.
North Carolina (23-6, 11-5 ACC) hosts Clemson on Tuesday for Senior Night. The winner of this matchup earns sole possession of fourth place in the ACC, while the loser misses a double-bye in next week’s conference tournament.

On Saturday, though, the Tar Heels travel to Durham for a rematch with archrival Duke. The Tobacco Road Rivalry, also the greatest across sports, tops college basketball analyst Andy Katz’ Games of the Week list.
Michigan State at Michigan trails UNC-Duke at second, while Arizona-Iowa State comes in third place. The ACC-leading Blue Devils (28-2, 16-1 ACC), who beat NC State Monday night in Raleigh, also came in fourth on Katz’ GOTW list.
Everyone still remembers that electric night on February 7, when Seth Trimble’s buzzer-beater completed North Carolina’s comeback in a massive, 71-68 upset of Duke. The Tar Heels never led until Trimble’s game-winner, which set off two court storms – one before and after the seconds left – which never made a difference. UNC fans stormed Franklin Street, with people donning the Carolina Blue happy everywhere.

There’s a good chance North Carolina doesn’t have superstar freshman Caleb Wilson for this game, which readily changes the pregame chatter. Wilson suiting up gives the Tar Heels a much better chance, though they match up well with a depth-tested Blue Devils squad.
Round Two of UNC-Duke will almost certainly deliver. Can North Carolina survive a raucous Cameron Indoor Stadium crowd – and win against one-sided officiating?
