Iowa basketball vs Lipscomb: Live score updates, highlights

It’s been nearly eight months since the Iowa basketball team last took the court. That changes on Tuesday night.

The Hawkeyes will tip off their 2026-27 season inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena with a non-conference matchup against Lipscomb. The visiting Bisons are off to a 0-1 start this season, falling 86-79 to SEMO on Monday. Guard Takai Simpkins, who started 31 games for Oregon last season, scored 22 points in the loss. Forward Devyn Martin chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. Lipscomb is coached by Kevin Carroll, who’s in his second year with the program.

Iowa is also led by a second-year head coach, Ben McCollum. In his first season with the Hawkeyes, McCollum led the program to an Elite Eight berth. He’s looking to build on that success in year two. He’ll have to do so without some key contributors. Bennett Stirtz, Alvaro Folgueiras, and Tavion Banks have all departed. But a lot of talent is also returning, with Cooper Koch, Tate Sage, Kael Combs, and more all back. They’re looking for a fast start to the season with a win tonight.
