It’s officially Grind Week at Michigan State basketball. The annual event brings out Spartans past and present to unite in East Lansing as the current roster gets ready for the season. With Grind Week, we get a lot of footage and photos out of the gym, and one of those pictures showed something rather curious, and slightly alarming.
In a group picture of everyone in town, MSU basketball sophomore power forward and presumed starter this season, Cam Ward, was seen with a walking boot on his foot. The walking boot has become a major villain for the Spartans in recent years, as it feels like it’s become increasingly common to see it used by players. One note here, Jonah Wilson of Spartans Illustrated notes that Ward’s injury is not considered serious, and our writers have heard the same.

Ward played 15.3 minutes per game last year as a freshman and is in line for a big role this year for the Spartans.
