Top ten 2027 point guard to visit Kentucky in October

Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope already has one five-star player from the class of 2027 committed in wing Ryan Hampton. He is Pope’s first five-star recruit, and it has him hungry for more. As always, Kentucky is involved with a number of the top 20 recruits, including point guard Nasir Anderson.

Per Joe Tipton of Rivals, Anderson has scheduled a number of visits for this fall, and the Wildcats will be one of his stops. The report says that he will be in Lexington on Oct. 5. He also has visits set up to Providence, Virginia, Syracuse, Southern California, as well as the Georgia Bulldogs, Tennessee Volunteers, and North Carolina Tarheels.

Anderson is a 6’3″, 215 lb point guard out of Georgia. He is currently rated five stars by 247Sports and ranks as their No. 8 overall player in the 2027 class.

Though he’s not as tall as some of the other point guards in the class, his strength enables him to get into the paint and to the rim. Once there, he has a knack for finding open shooters, and has gotten better at avoiding turnovers. His shot is still developing, but has potential as well.

Pope has learned that hard way that having multiple guys who can excel at point guard is a necessity in college basketball. Getting Anderson to Lexington to pair with a veteran would be ideal. We’ll see if he can reel him in this fall while he has him in town.
