ESPN analyst compares incoming Duke hoops freshman to Cam Boozer

ESPN basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla is driving the Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje hype train. The incoming Duke Blue Devils freshman was likened to Al Horford and recent top-three NBA draft pick Cameron Boozer in a recent social media post.

Boumtje-Boumtje will hit the college basketball circuit this fall after three seasons with Barcelona, and excitement is building after he was named TISSOT Most Valuable Player of the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup over the weekend.

He posted 20 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks in the US’s resounding 107-81 victory over Serbia in the final.

The seven-foot-one freshman committed to Duke in late April.

Fraschilla believes that while the talented big man has elements of his game that resemble other stars, he will ultimately break the mold and create his own unique profile.
