Hammer and Rails Readers React Results: Purdue Men’s Basketball 2027 NCAA Tournament Chances

We’ve made it to the end of another week folks. I hope you’re saving your Word documents, closing up those spreadsheets, and preparing to either head up to West Lafayette for tonight’s Purdue game, tomorrow’s football game and Homecoming, or maybe both. It should be a great weekend in Purdue athletics. Right now though? I hope you’re ready to see the results from this week’s readers react survey which some, not all but some, have called a stupid question (you know who you are).

I could understand why someone might think this is a dumb question given Purdue’s recent history of waltzing into the Big Dance with no problems. However, Purdue lost 4 starters and there’s a lot of nervous nellys in the Purdue fanbase so I wanted to test the waters as we began the season. To be clear I think Purdue will absolutely make the NCAA Tournament but I just wanted to gauge the fan base as the season gets going. Without further ado, here are the results.

We remain an optimistic group when it comes to men’s basketball with 92% of readers believing that Purdue will return to the Big Dance this season. Consider me part of the 92%. That does mean that there’s 8% that think Purdue won’t and I’d love to hear from those people in the comments.
