Jaidyn Coon highlights Iowa basketball season-opening reactions

Though Iowa men’s basketball (1-0) started its 2026-27 season opener slowly, the Hawkeyes used a dominant second half to cruise to a 76-54 win over Lipscomb (0-2) at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Tuesday night.

First-year guard and forward Jaidyn Coon had arguably the most impressive night, posting a team-leading 12 points alongside six rebounds and one block in 19 minutes off the bench. Transfer guard Ty’Reek Coleman followed closely with 10 points, six rebounds, four assists, and one steal.
