We are finally here! Our long national nightmare is over! In a little over an hour Purdue men’s basketball will tip off the season against Gonzaga out in Las Vegas. How lucky we are to be alive right now! There is unease and trepidation around this year’s men’s basketball team as Purdue lost 4 starters from last year’s team. That’s always going to be a huge adjustment. Head Coach Matt Painter kept the team together while added in new pieces like Caden Pierce and Enzo Shahrvin. The question is, will these new pieces be enough to plug the holes of the departing players while the returning players step into their new roles admirably? Let’s hope so.
