Two of college basketball’s most recognizable programs will meet Thursday night when the Virginia Cavaliers visit the Villanova Wildcats for a preseason exhibition at Finneran Pavilion. The matchup brings together two teams with NCAA Tournament aspirations, accomplished coaches and plenty of intriguing storylines entering the 2026-27 season.

Virginia is preparing for its second campaign under head coach Ryan Odom, who has worked to establish a new identity in Charlottesville. The Cavaliers have already gained valuable experience during exhibition games against Vanderbilt and Richmond, including an impressive 96-53 victory over the Spiders earlier this month.
