SB Nation Reacts results: Will the Rockets trade Kevin Durant at the deadline this year?

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Rockets fans and fans across the country.

This week’s question asked about Kevin Durant’s future in H-town. James asked the question this week if we thought the Rockets could trade KD, so we figured it best to get your opinion.

Houston moving on from Durant at the deadline likely means there is a prerequisite of the team underachieving this year, because Durant has a player option the following season. If the team is not living up to expectations, he’s probably not coming back. The Rockets will need to move him before they lose him for nothing.

So this question isn’t just about Durant, ultimately. It’s also about if the team will be in the position where moving him at the deadline is the better option than certainly losing him in free agency.

Here’s what you said:

The vast majority of you feel Durant is here to stay. It may be just wishful thinking on my part, but I’m a little more bullish on Durant leaving no matter what happens this year (short of a Conference Finals or Finals run), because that’s just his nature. Whether the Rockets see it that way and want to get ahead of it is another story entirely. We’ve already been told that KD was at the “top of the list” of the Rockets’ problems last year. I just don’t know if the front office sees it that way.

Don’t forget to make your way over FanDuel. They are ready to roll with title odds, parlays, player props and more. The Rockets are +2700 to win the title. That’s a nice payout on a $100 bet, if you’re feeling confident. Kevin Durant is a +2700 for MVP, while Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson are at +12,500.

Thanks for voting. We’ll back soon with more Reacts.
