Knicks reportedly exploring Pacome Dadiet, Tyler Kolek trades so they can keep Bruce Brown

While the Knicks brought in a number of veterans on non-guaranteed contracts to compete for a roster spot in training camp, James Wiseman was always the frontrunner. New York needs depth at center behind Karl-Anthony Towns and Andre Drummond, and Wiseman fits that role well. When the Knicks cut Drew Eubanks, Tony Bradley and Ochai Agbaji on Thursday, it cleared the way for Wiseman to make the roster.

Also, teams are “studying” the Knicks’ contract situation with Karl-Anthony Towns, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reports. “Studying” is the new term for “monitoring” a situation. If Towns declines his player option for next season (he is expected to, the deadline is Monday) and the sides don’t reach a deal, then Towns will be a free agent next summer, and of course there are teams interested.
