The Vols play Xavier on Oct. 15 (7 p.m. ET, SEC Network+) at Food City Center.

Meanwhile, coach Rick Barnes is searching for answers in the frontcourt with Jalen Washington, a 6-foot-10 Vanderbilt transfer, ineligible while awaiting a ruling in his lawsuit against the NCAA.

The Vols haven’t played Xavier since Nov. 29, 2013 at the Battle 4 Atlantis in Paradise Island, Bahamas. But they have won five of six games played in the series this century.
