With many seniors looking for an additional year of eligibility through pending court processes, one former Wisconsin Badgers player is looking to jump in the mix: guard Andrew Rohde.
Rohde, a senior in 2025-26, came to Wisconsin after one year at St. Thomas and two years at Virginia, initially hailing from Brookfield, Wisconsin. The guard averaged 5.7 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.1 rebounds for the Badgers last year, while shooting 36.3 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from three.

Dealing with a hand injury for much of the season, Rohde struggled with his efficiency after shooting over 41 percent from three at Virginia as a junior. But he turned out to be one of Wisconsin’s best point-of-attack defenders and arguably the team’s best passer last year, averaging 26.4 minutes per game.
On3 reported on Thursday that Rohde entered the transfer portal, as he looks to play a fifth season of college basketball. Last month, he was among a large group of players who received a fifth year of eligibility through a preliminary injunction in the state of Indiana.
That group included current Indiana Hoosiers football players Stephen Daley and Kellen Wyatt, Miami forward Malik Reneau, Iowa State guard Tamin Lipsey, Kansas guard Tre White, and more.
Rohde won’t be back at Wisconsin, as the Badgers are at 14 players with a clear mind on their 15th currently. But he could find himself as a late addition to another Power 4 roster this Fall, perhaps even back with the Cavaliers.
