As the college football season rolls along while college basketball nears its return, a major development came late Friday that affects both sports. The Kentucky Court of Appeals has dissolved the temporary injunction that had allowed athletes in the class of 2022 to play this season.
Players involved in the Kentucky lawsuit vs. the NCAA are now ineligible to play this season, including Kentucky Football linebacker Alex Afari, Louisville Basketball guard Seth Trimble, and Missouri Basketball forward Mark Mitchell.

Afari is obviously the biggest one since the football season is already underway, so he’s out Saturday when the Wildcats take on the South Carolina Gamecocks. He was practically a starter last week when normal starter Bo Barnes was ejected for targeting in the first half.
Thankfully, Barnes will be able to play the entire game this week, and Kentucky will need it with Afari now out.

For now, all of these players are out, at least until the next lawsuit happens.
