Texas Tech basketball is getting one of the biggest television stages of the 2026-27 season.
The Red Raiders’ road game against Kansas on Feb. 6, 2027 will air nationally on ABC, with an 11 a.m. tip at Allen Fieldhouse.

It’s the only Big 12 matchup included in ESPN’s announced ABC package, giving Texas Tech and Kansas a standalone spotlight in one of college basketball’s most recognizable venues.
For Grant McCasland, the matchup carries some recent history.
Texas Tech is 2-1 against Kansas under McCasland, including a 78-73 victory at Allen Fieldhouse on March 1, 2025.
The Red Raiders also beat the Jayhawks 79-50 in Lubbock during McCasland’s first season before Kansas answered with a 64-61 win last season.
That most recent loss still stings.

Texas Tech led Kansas 59-50 with six minutes remaining before the Jayhawks closed the game on a 14-2 run to steal the three-point victory in Lubbock.
McCasland called it “a competitive Big 12 game,” and the rematch now gets a much bigger stage.
The Feb. 6 meeting will also be the only regular-season matchup between the programs, increasing the stakes if both teams are involved in the Big 12 title race.
ESPN’s ABC college basketball lineup also includes Louisville at Kentucky, North Carolina at Duke and Florida at Arkansas, putting Texas Tech-Kansas alongside some of the sport’s most recognizable rivalries.

The Red Raiders are coming off another NCAA Tournament appearance and went 12-6 in Big 12 play last season, finishing tied for third in the conference.
Texas Tech opens the 2026-27 season Nov. 2 against Jackson State before hosting Illinois on Nov. 10 as part of a five-game homestand.
The schedule gets considerably tougher once conference play begins, with road trips to Houston, Colorado and Kansas among the biggest tests.
