With the 2026-27 men’s college basketball season quickly approaching, the St. John’s Red Storm still has plenty of question marks when it comes to its roster and getting players eligible for the campaign.
One of the players who are still seeking eligibility for the upcoming season is Keyshawn Hall. He is seeking to play a fifth season of college basketball under the new 5-in-5 eligibility rules that the NCAA has in place.

After being ruled against by the Ohio Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Ohio, Hall was left ineligible after the NCAA was granted a stay on a previous injunction. Alas, the fight is not over for the talented forward, as he is now taking his case to home soil.
As shared by Zach Braziller of the New York Post, Hall has sued the NCAA for injunctive relief to be eligible for a fifth season. The suit was filed in Queens Supreme Court, where the university is located.

“In June 2026, the NCAA abolished the four-seasons-in-five-years framework under which Plaintiff’s seasons were counted and replaced it with an age-based model that grants five years of competition with no limit on the number of seasons of participation,” the court documents for Hall read. “The NCAA implemented that model immediately, for the 2026-27 academic year. It declined to grandfather the athletes who had complied with the rule it was discarding, including Plaintiff and others similarly-situated in his class.”
While no final ruling has been made in the Ohio case, Hall is moving his to try and beat the clock with the season near. The Queens Supreme Court is where his potential teammate, Babacar Sane, received a temporary restraining…
