Milan Momcilovic is not Andy Katz’s best 3-point shooter in college basketball

Nothing says offseason bait like an Andy Katz top-10 list. The latest edition of his top-10 list included the best 3-point shooters in America.

The list put Kentucky’s Milan Momcilovic at No. 3, and that frankly just sounds crazy.

Momcilovic is coming off a season in which he shot 48.7% from the 3-point range with 3.7 3s made per game and 136 total made in the 2025-26 season, the most in America.

The two people listed above Momcilovic? Ryan Sabol and Pryce Sandfort, two shooters who shot 39.9% and 41.6% from 3-point range, respectively.

In comparison, Momcilovic was better in every single statistical category. When it comes to percentage, he’s over 7% better than both. When you look at makes from 3, Momcilovic made seven more than Sandfort and 14 more than Sabol. 

We’re not trying to knock these two elite shooters, but come on, Andy.

Momcilovic is the best shooter in the land and will continue to be this season for the Wildcats. 

Regarding Momcilovic, the incredible shooter and one of the best transfers in college basketball, he is now back on the hardwood and practicing with the team today after missing some time with a splint on his right index finger. 

Kentucky men’s basketball posted a video on Tuesday of him shooting at practice with the caption “Sniper,” keeping the main thing the main thing, and dropping it with perfect timing after the list from Katz. 

Momcilovic was missing some time due to a “severely jammed” finger, and it made some of Big Blue Nation freak out. Now, the nation’s best shooter is back in live action, with one practice down and another practice coming later today.

Another reason this week is special for Momcilovic is that Tuesday was his birthday! He wears 22, turned 22, and was born on September 22nd. It’s unclear whether his birth date is why he wears the number, but it’s been what he’s worn since his earliest days of basketball.
