ESPN picks up high-stakes matchup between Duke and Florida

The Duke Blue Devils received a schedule update ahead of the 2026-27 season, as their game with Florida (December 1) will now start at 9:30 PM EST. The game will also be televised nationally on ESPN as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge. This game marks a difficult stretch in Duke’s schedule, with a matchup in Las Vegas against the UConn Huskies scheduled for November 25 before their trip to Gainesville.

However, history is on Duke’s side against the Gators, dominating Florida with an all-time series record of 11-2. Nonetheless, the last two matchups between the schools have been quite close, with Duke winning 67-66 last year and 87-84 during the 2017-18 season.

Duke’s last loss to Florida was an upset in the 2000 NCAA Tournament, where the Gators (then coached by Billy Donovan) mounted a late comeback to eliminate the Blue Devils in the Sweet 16.
