The 6-foot-5 Lundblade, who is expected to be the Vols’ best 3-point shooter, was also limited in summer workouts as he worked through the recovery process but is nearing full health as the start of the season approaches.

Coach Rick Barnes said on July 23 that the Vols were handling his injury cautiously, but the Belmont transfer has been progressing well ever since.

“As for Tyler, he’s just putting one foot in front of the other, step-by-step trying to improve and just working towards getting healthy,” assistant coach Amorrow Morgan said on Aug. 27. “He’s very close to getting there.”

The Vols will hold their first practices for the 2026-27 season on Sept. 22 and play their first exhibition game against Xavier on Oct. 15.
