Heat guard Pelle Larsson reportedly agrees to 4-year, $60 million extension

Pelle Larsson entered last season as a relative unknown. Then he made himself some money.

The Miami Heat guard has agreed to a four-year, $60 million contract extension with a mutual option for the 2030-31 season, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The deal has not been confirmed by the Heat.

Larsson was slated to hit restricted free agency next offseason.

The 25-year-old Swede represents the latest find for the Heat and their vaunted player development machine. Miami acquired him in the 2024 NBA Draft via a trade with the Houston Rockets, who officially selected him with the 44th overall pick. Larsson spent much of his rookie season on the bench, averaging 5.6 points in 14.2 minutes per game across 55 appearances.

Larsson’s role expanded last season, starting in 54 of his 70 appearances while averaging 11.4 points per game for a team that fell in the NBA play-in tournament.

That role could change again following Miami’s transformative offseason. In addition to the Heat’s blockbuster trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Heat brought in more veteran guard help with Klay Thompson and Tim Hardaway Jr., while also subtracting top scorers Tyler Herro and Norman Powell.
