MSU basketball announces exhibition opener date, details

Michigan State men’s basketball has officially announced their opening game of the season. Well, opening exhibition game of the season.

The Spartans will first take the floor of the Breslin Center on October 2 in a unique exhibition game against Incarnate Word. The exhibition game will be part of the annual Izzone campout event, with the game breaking up the campout for students attending the event.

Per a release from the school, attendance for the game will be exclusive to students participating in the Izzone campout and for season ticket holders. It’s unclear at this time if the game will be televised or available to watch via a streaming service.

Tipoff for this matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

This will mark the first of three exhibition games for the Spartans this season. They will also play UConn at home on October 20 and at Marquette on October 25. The Spartans’ official first game of the season is on November 2 against Quinnipiac.
