Ohio State basketball will learn on Friday whether they land one of the premier guards in the 2027 class.
Antonio Pemberton, a 6-foot-1, 165-pound point guard at Masters Academy International in Massachusetts, is scheduled to make his college destination known at 4 p.m. ET Friday on the CBS Sports College Basketball YouTube channel. Ohio State is a finalist, as are Boston College, Creighton, Kansas, Marquette, Michigan State, Tennessee, and UCLA.

Pemberton is a top-25 prospect according to 247 Sports Composite and is ranked as the No. 5 point guard in the country.
The timing of this announcement is significant for the Buckeyes because he was originally supposed to visit campus the weekend of Sept. 18-20, and now he will be making his decision instead. Head coach Jake Diebler and staff will have to hope the relationship they have built with him will prove fruitful enough for him to want to commit without visiting Columbus, but that may be a long shot.
247 Sports Director Adam Finkelstein described Pemberton as a tough shot-maker who is especially effective at creating off the dribble. Come Friday, Ohio State should know if they have done enough to win the recruitment or whether the staff will have to focus on other targets.
