Iowa State has adjusted the dates for two of its early December men’s basketball matchups at Hilton Coliseum.
The Cyclones will now open the month against Alcorn State on Dec. 1, moving the game up one day from its originally scheduled date of Dec. 2.

In addition, Iowa State’s matchup against Purdue has been rescheduled for Dec. 5 instead of Dec. 6. The game against the Boilermakers marks the first time Purdue will play a men’s basketball game in Ames.
Rescheduling the Purdue matchup adds another chapter to an even series, with the two programs currently tied at 3-3 all-time. Although the Boilermakers have never played at Hilton Coliseum, the Cyclones hold a 2-0 advantage in West Lafayette, Indiana. That record includes an 81-58 Iowa State victory in their most recent matchup on Dec. 6, 2025. Purdue has won three of the four neutral-site meetings between the schools, capturing victories in Hilo, Hawaii; Bayamon, Puerto Rico; and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, while Iowa State won their neutral-site matchup in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Meanwhile, Iowa State will look to protect its perfect record against Alcorn State. The Cyclones are 3-0 all-time against the Braves, with every game in the series played in Ames [2]. The teams last met on Dec. 3, 2025, resulting in a 132-68 victory for Iowa State.
