The Miami Dolphins lost to the Atlanta Falcons earlier tonight, ending an ugly preseason schedule in which the team failed to win a game. In fact, other than the opening drive of their first game when the starting offense was on the field, Miami did not score a touchdown this summer. Is that a sign of things to come?

How are waiver claims made?

Once a player is waived, the rest of the teams around the league have 24 hours to exercise a claim. This is not a full free-for-all, though. Player waivers are processed at the same time each day (usually 4 p.m. Eastern), and claims are processed at the same time the next day. Teams can submit a waiver claim at any time during the 24-hour period; the league collects all claims and processes them…
