Angel Reese can breathe a sigh of relief after her eighth technical foul of the season got rescinded by the WNBA ahead of the Atlanta Dream’s game against the Minnesota Lynx.
Angel Reese is in fine form at the moment, although she was not able to help the Atlanta Dream beat the Portland Fire on Friday night. The team lost 101-83, a disappointing result.

However, things could have been much worse for Reese and her team. During the 4th quarter, when the Dream were trying to make a comeback, Angel was awarded a technical foul.
It would have been her eighth of the season, leading to an automatic one-game suspension. This would have seen her miss the team’s clash against the Minnesota Lynx, but the 24-year-old doesn’t have to worry about that anymore.

The race for a favourable draw during the 2026 WNBA Playoffs prominently features the Atlanta Dream. They are among the teams vying to get a top three seed.

The Lynx have been the W’s best team by far this season. They comfortably have the best record in the league, too. It would have been a huge blow to face Minnesota without Reese, but now they don’t have to.
“The technical foul that Angel Reese received tonight has been rescinded, the league confirmed to ESPN,” Alexa Philippou reported on X.
“She is back at seven technical fouls on the season. An eighth would lead to an automatic one-game suspension.
Reese was the Eastern Conference Player of the Week this past week, and will not want that momentum to break. She had 16 points and 16 rebounds against the Fire.

Atlanta will have a tough time beating Minnesota even with Reese playing, but having her on the court is better than not having her on it.
