The WNBA MVP race has been heating up. And a former 3-time MVP, Lauren Jackson, named Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers as candidates before naming her actual pick.

The WNBA’s biggest stars have been showing out so far in the 2026 season. Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell are popping off for Indiana, Olivia Miles is surprising everyone, and Paige Bueckers has taken a leap, too.

With so many good teams and deserving candidates, the race for MVP is drawing quite a bit of attention as the regular season is set to conclude soon.

Lauren Jackson is a certified legend when it comes to women’s basketball. She knows a thing or two about winning MVPs. And when she discussed the race recently, she named her pick.

Wilson’s greatness has become so normalised that fans aren’t even surprised when she performs at an elite level anymore. A’ja already has four MVPs to her name in her career.

And Jackson thinks it’s time for a fourth. In a recent interview, the Hall of Famer didn’t hesitate to name Wilson as her pick while mentioning the other candidates as well.

“A’ja. A’ja Wilson,” Jackson told All-Star Magazine. Again, she has had another remarkable season, and I don’t think anyone can really stack up to her.

“There are so many great players over there. Obviously, I love Stewie. She’s a great player. But there’s also Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark. Actually, I’m naming everyone now, but I would say A’ja.”

The Aces star is averaging 26.0 points along with 9.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game this year. Wilson is relentless with her greatness, it is impossible to deny her case even if fans prefer another star.
