Along with the addition of two players in the Bay Area, a pair of former Golden State Warriors were on the move this week. In a busy late window of free agency, both Klay Thompson and Jonathan Kuminga found new homes. Following a buyout with the Dallas Mavericks, Thompson agreed to join Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat.
Since signing with the Heat and being unveiled in Miami at an introductory press conference, Thompson wasted little time getting in the gym in South Beach to get some shots up while representing his new team. Thompson recently went to work in Miami with an offseason workout, showing off his legendary jump shot while wearing some new Heat gear.

After 11 seasons with the Warriors, Thompson joined Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and the Mavericks in the summer of 2024. However, with the Mavericks now rebuilding around Cooper Flagg, Thompson agreed to a buyout after two seasons in Dallas. Quickly after his buyout, Thompson signed a new two-year deal with the Miami Heat.
During his time in the Lone Star State, Thompson played 141 games, averaging 12.9 points on 40.3% shooting from the field and 38.7% shooting from beyond the arc to go along with 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
The Warriors won’t have to wait long into the 2026-27 season to reunite with Thompson on the court at Chase Center. The Heat are scheduled to come to the Bay Area on Nov. 5, just the ninth game of the new season.
