‘The worst’ – Fans divided as Sophie Cunningham endorsed by Fever for WNBA award

The Indiana Fever have thrown their support behind Sophie Cunningham to be named the 2026 WNBA Sixth Player of the Year.

The Sixth Player of the Year is handed out to the league’s most valuable player coming off the bench as a substitute.

Naz Hillmon is the current holder of the Sixth Player of the Year title, which is voted for by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.

Now, the Fever have made a post on X/Twitter suggesting that Cunningham should be this year’s winner.

They explained: “Sophie Cunningham for 6th Player of the Year. She has been averaging 8.4 PPG, 47.6 FG% (career high) & 44.1 3P% (no. 3 in the WNBA & career high) this season.”

But not everyone is of the opinion that Cunningham should win the award in 2026.
