Boston Celtics backup big man Luka Garza helped put his Bosnian National team past the Italian National Team on Friday afternoon with Bosnia winning their FIBA 2029 World Cup pre-qualifying match in EuroBasket play to the tune of 78-76. The contest was a close one with Italy taking the lead in the game’s final moments before Bosnia closed the door on them late.
The Celtics reserve center came off the bench for Bosnia as well, but had a substantial role in the victory with just under 16 minutes of floor time in the win. Garza put up a total of 10 points and 7 boards over that stretch, shooting 4-of-8 from the field overall and a perfect 2-of-2 from the free throw line.

The Iowa alum did not take any shots from beyond the arc with Bosnia, however, and ended the game a +12.
