It’s finally here. Why local Indiana basketball fans will be pleased with schedule

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana basketball’s nonconference schedule will take on a heavy local flavor, in Darian DeVries’ second season in charge of the Hoosiers.

Announced Tuesday morning, IU’s October-December slate will include three in-state exhibitions against Division I opponents, including an Oct. 18 date with North Carolina in Indianapolis.

The Hoosiers will return to the state capital twice in the regular season, Nov. 9 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse against Syracuse and Nov. 20 at Lucas Oil Stadium against Kentucky, before capping their non-league slate with visits to Assembly Hall from a pair of 2026 NCAA Tournament teams, UCF and Missouri.

IU will also travel to New York for the first time since 2023, for a game against Arkansas on Nov. 17 at Madison Square Garden.
