A former Forever Warrior is on the move, again.

Klay Thompson, who spent the last two seasons with the Dallas Mavericks after 13 unforgettable years with Golden State, intends to sign a two-year, $13 million contract with the Miami Heat upon clearing waivers, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Friday.

Per Charania, the second year of the agreement is a player option.

This comes after it was announced that Thompson and the Mavericks reached a buyout agreement, making the four-time NBA champion an unrestricted free agent.

Exploring the open market apparently didn’t last very long for Thompson, as he’ll pack his bags for South Beach and join the Eastern Conference for the first time in his NBA career.

Thompson averaged 12.9 points on 40.3-percent shooting from the field and 38.7 percent from 3-point range in 141 games (80 starts) with Dallas.

“Klay is one of the great players and competitors of his generation, and we are grateful for everything he brought to the Mavericks organization,” Mavericks president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri said in a statement shared Friday. “We have tremendous respect for Klay and all that he has accomplished throughout his career, and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward.”

Thompson enters Year 16 in the league with a fresh start.

And it won’t take long for the Warriors to face him and his new squad. Golden State hosts Miami on Nov. 5 at Chase Center.
