Former Villanova Big Man Commits to Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Sooners may have scored one of the biggest steals in the transfer portal. According to 247Sports, Duke Brennan committed to the Oklahoma Sooners following a Colorado injunction granting an extra year of eligibility to athletes from the high school class of 2022. 

This is beyond exciting news for Sooner basketball fans after Tae Davis decided to enter the transfer portal. With Davis and forward Mohamed Wague both gone, Oklahoma desperately needed presence inside the paint. Porter Moser may have had not only his best transfer portal class in his career with the Sooners, but he may have also filled the biggest piece to the 2026-2027 roster.

Duke Brennan is the veteran center that any team would love to have. At 6-foot-10 and 250 pounds, he’s solid all around. While he wasn’t as much of a factor during his freshman season with Arizona State, he set the Sun Devils’ all-time record for most games played by a freshman. 

After his year with Arizona State, Brennan spent his next two seasons with Grand Canyon where his career started to take a huge step forward. During his sophomore season, he led the Antelopes in offensive rebounds averaging 2.7 per game. After he recorded six double-digit rebounding performances, GCU knew this kid was going to be special. 

During the 2024-2025 season, he made the WAC All-Defensive team and earned second-team All-WAC honors. He also turned into a double-double machine, having 10 during his junior campaign. In Brennan’s two seasons with the Antelopes, they won the WAC tournament championship and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament. He started in all of his appearances with Grand Canyon. 

The 2025-2026 season with Villanova was by far his best. In 32 starts, he averaged 12.4 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game. Brennan was the first Villanova Wildcat since Harold Pressley in 1985-1986 to average at least 10 rebounds per game.
