The final 2026 Sixers free agent has found a home.
ESPN’s Shams Charania has reported that Trendon Watford has signed a one-year, $2.9 million dollar deal with the New Orleans Pelicans.
In his lone season with the Sixers, Watford averaged 16.3 minutes across his 53 appearances while struggling with soft tissue injures. A strained hamstring made him miss the start of the season and an adductor strain cost him a healthy chunk of the middle of the season.

Watford put up 6.5 points per game along with 3,3 rebounds and 2.5 assists as a Sixer. As a starter he dropped a triple-double early in the season and was very popular in the locker room as a close friend of Tyrese Maxey.
As the season wore on his struggles as a shooter and a defender made it hard to for him to stay in the rotation. His last made three-pointer came when Jared McCain was still a member of the Sixers.
There was some talk that Watford’s next opportunity would come overseas, but instead he found a deal to remain in the NBA. Earlier this month Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews.com reported that Watford was close to signing a deal with Valencia Basket in Spain. Watford himself shot down those rumors pretty quickly on X.
