There’s a world where the Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team could once again suffer a first-round NCAA Tournament exit in the 2026-27 season.
This is something the Badgers always seem to be in danger of under head coach Greg Gard, and it’s seemingly impossible to understand why.

No matter how much talent this team has or how many expectations they exceed during the regular season, March Madness success has eluded them.
While ESPN’s Myron Medcalf gave the Badgers a Sweet 16 ceiling, it’s important to note that their floor isn’t as kind.
Medcalf believes this team’s floor is 20 wins, which would be good for an eighth-place finish in the Big Ten.
Once again, this could be a solid foundation, one that leaves them plenty of room to defy the odds and make a run in a loaded conference.
Before anyone can think about March Madness redemption, Wisconsin has to get there first, and it seems like 20 wins should be enough, though they’d hate to leave it up to the selection committee.
