The National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame will welcome six new members this coming October, as announced by USA TODAY’s Detroit Free Press and many other outlets.
Former Villanova head coach Jay Wright, Kansas head coach Ted Owens, Georgia and Kentucky head coach Tubby Smith, Michigan forward Glen Rice, BYU guard Danny Ainge and UCLA guard Walt Hazzard will be officially inducted at a ceremony in Kansas City, Missouri, on Oct. 22.

Each class is selected by the Blue Ribbon Selection Committee, which is made up of college basketball executives and leaders.
“The Class of 2026 represents the very best of college basketball—individuals whose performance, leadership, and impact helped shape the game at the highest level,” said Kevin Henderson, CEO of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. “Their legacies will forever be preserved as part of the sport’s rich history.”
Rice and Hazzard won national titles during their playing careers, while Ainge won the Wooden Award as a senior, averaging over 24 points per game.

Wright and Smith won national titles during their coaching careers, while Owens led Kansas to two Final Fours in 1971 and 1974.
