Kentucky makes the cut for 5-star recruit DeMarcus Henry

On Monday night, 5-star wing/small forward DeMarcus Henry announced that he has trimmed his list to eight schools. The list includes Kentucky, North Carolina, BYU, Louisville, UConn, Kansas, Ohio State, and Arkansas.

Henry is a smooth, three-level lefty scorer who is highly sought after by many programs all around the country. Originally from California, currently playing high school ball for Arizona Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona.

In June, he led the NBA Top 100 camp in scoring with 20 ppg and added 9.3 rpg. His shot-making shows that he would fit extremely well in Mark Pope’s system if he were to choose Kentucky down the road. He also brings versatility to his offensive game, where you could see him meshing well with players of many different styles. Elite at scoring, off-ball or with the ball in hands.

Pope and Kentucky will have their hands full with this recruitment, with some of the best recruiters/coaches in the country going after the 5-star talent. Kentucky is very familiar with many of the logos and brands going after Henry, but the NIL era has brought a different list of teams throwing their hats in the ring as well, and you can tell from his final eight schools.

Below, you can watch some highlights of DeMarcus Henry from this past May.
