North Carolina has added another experienced guard to its backcourt, as Buffalo transfer Angelo Brizzi committed to UNC on Wednesday, per a report first by Inside Carolina.
Brizzi, a 6-foot-3, 193-pound guard, joins a restructured Tar Heel perimeter squad that already features Utah transfer Terrence Brown, NC State transfer Matt Able, and returning guards Isaiah Denis and Jaydon Young. Virginia Tech transfer Neoklis Avdalas is also anticipated to contribute as a playmaking point forward. Brizzi marks the fifth transfer portal addition for new head coach Michael Malone since his appointment on April 7.

At Buffalo, Brizzi started all 30 games and averaged 14.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists for a Bulls team that finished 17–15. He shot 37.3% from three-point range and was highly effective at the free throw line, ranking fifth in the MAC in made free throws (121) and fourth in free throw percentage (83.4%).
Brizzi started his career at Villanova, participating in nine games as a redshirt freshman. He then played seasons at Davidson and Longwood before transferring to Buffalo, where he competed last season.
UNC lightly recruited him in fall 2019, and he visited Chapel Hill that September, watching a UNC football game with Caleb Love and Walker Kessler on official visits. Assistant Brad Frederick led his recruitment, but Brizzi committed to Villanova in July 2020.
