What Wisconsin-connected players could be in 2027 NBA Draft?

One NBA draft cycle ends, and another immediately begins.

There wasn’t much Wisconsin flavor in the 2026 proceedings, with the University of Wisconsin’s Nick Boyd, Marquette’s Chase Ross and former Menomonee Falls High School standout Seth Trimble all going undrafted but signing deals that get a foot in the door of the NBA.

The lack of Wisconsin ties should change in 2027, with some intriguing prospects ready for their opportunity.

It’s hard to predict who will actually end up in this draft class, with the lure of name, image and likeness money and revenue sharing making staying in college often the more lucrative option. The always-shifting NCAA rules – including five years of eligibility for incoming players – are also a factor.

But here are some familiar names who could be relevant in the 2027 NBA draft.

Amari Allen (Alabama)

The do-everything former Ashwaubenon High School star strongly considering staying in the 2026 draft before opting to return to the Crimson Tide for his sophomore season under head coach Nate Oats, a fellow Wisconsin native.

Allen has been listed at 6-foot-8 in college, but at the NBA combine he was measured at just over 6-5 while barefoot. That probably caused NBA front offices to consider him more of a guard than a forward. So Allen will benefit from playing a more on-ball role next season after being a glue guy as a freshman.
