Begley notes that Looney and Knicks head coach Mike Brown maintain a relationship from their time together in Golden State, which could make Looney a potential replacement for Mitchell Robinson, should he leave for another team.
Looney, 30 spent the first 10 seasons of his pro career with the Warriors before playing 21 games last season with the New Orleans Pelicans. The big man has career averages of 4.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.
