Kentucky has added the sister of a former Wildcats great

Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball coach Kenny Brooks has had a very good offseason. He has three McDonald’s All-American’s set to debut this fall, and through the transfer portal has added some terrific talents, including Me’Arah O’Neal, the daughter of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. Now, in sticking with the family theme, Jemma Amoore, the sister of former Kentucky star Georgia Amoore, has committed to Brooks and the Cats.

Amoore is a 5’4″ point guard who is transferring to Kentucky from IU Indy where she averaged 1.7 points, 0.9 rebounds, 0.4 assists, and 0.4 steals in just about 8 minutes per game. The previous year, she was at Sacramento State where she played sparingly.

Coach Brooks released a statement, saying “Jemma exemplifies what it means to be a Wildcat!” He praised her experience, and noted her familiarity with the system because of her sister.

Backcourt depth is necessary for any team, especially in the postseason. Amoore gives Kentucky another option at point guard, and with two years of eligibility remaining, she has time to develop into a key player. It’s another solid addition for Brooks.
