The roster additions keep on coming for the Syracuse Orange, who are officially filling in the last spot on their 2026-27 roster with a 2026 prospect coming off a stretch with Overtime Elite.
Ethan Butler —a six-foot-six, 202 lbs. guard from Manhattan — announced Saturday that he is committing to the program. He is the fifth freshman joining coach Gerry McNamara in Upstate New York, along with Mark Morano Mahmutovič, Ryan Moesch, Abdramane Siby, and Iker Martinez.

Butler played 17 games (eight as a starter) with Overtime Elite’s Diamond Doves. He averaged 5.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 14.9 minutes per game.
Before his tenure with Overtime Elite, Butler attended Saint Francis Preparatory School in Queens. At the time, he reportedly had offers from several schools, including Siena. Butler’s father Eric was a member of the Orange men’s soccer team during his time at Syracuse.
Butler is the 11th new face joining the Orange. The current 15-man roster now includes four returners, five recruits, and six transfers.
