Major 2027 CG announces Wisconsin Badgers commitment

The Wisconsin Badgers’ basketball program picked up a massive commitment in the 2027 class from a coveted in-state recruit.

Wauwatosa West (Wis.) guard Jalen Brown announced his commitment to the Wisconsin Badgers after visiting campus. Brown had previously been closely linked to Wisconsin, receiving a crystal ball prediction from Nick Osen of 247Sports ahead of his visit. The Badgers’ staff has now completed the pursuit of Brown with a major commitment to kick-off the 2027 recruiting class.

The newest commitment for the Badgers is a four-star recruit who has established himself as one of the top players in the state. Brown currently sits behind Dooney Johnson (Gonzaga), Donovan Davis (Iowa State), and Jack Kohnen (Uncommitted) in the 2027 Wisconsin state rankings.

Wisconsin had previously been in on both Johnson and Davis but ultimately could not pull in a commitment from either recruit.

Despite striking out on two other in-state recruits, the Badgers finally get the right man for the job after locking in a commitment from Brown. The guard chose Wisconsin over Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, West Virginia, and Washington.

After landing a commitment from Brown the focus of the staff will likely shift away from the 2027 class with an early pledge. The Badgers have shown strong interest in a few other offered targets in the class but none appear to be Madison bound at the moment.

Three-star Wisconsin Lutheran guard Kager Knueppel is one recruit the Wisconsin Badgers’ staff has kept close tabs on. However Kager is expected to follow in the footsteps of his brother, Kon, and join the Duke Blue Devils with an expert prediction logged.
