Florida basketball will host the Duke Blue Devils in the annual ACC/SEC Challenge this fall, ESPN and the SEC announced on Friday. The game is set for Tuesday, Dec. 1, inside the O’Connell Center.
The Gators and Blue Devils will face off for the second straight year and the 18th time in program history. Last season, Duke prevailed in a white-knuckle 67-66 win at Cameron Indoor Stadium in a game that saw Florida mount a furious rally in the final minutes only to be beaten by a 3-pointer with 21 seconds remaining.

Both teams are expected to be among the highest ranked in the nation entering the 2026-27 campaign, with the Orange and Blue currently holding the top spot in a majority of the way-too-early predictions. The two programs are projected to be No. 1 seeds in the early bracketologies for the 2027 NCAA Tournament.
This will be the first time that the Blue Devils have traveled to Gainesville for a men’s college basketball matchup since 1937 and just the fifth time ever. The Gators have just one win on their home court against Duke — a 41-20 triumph way back in December 1934.
Florida won its only previous home game in the SEC/ACC Challenge in an 87-69 victory against the Virginia Cavaliers last year on Dec. 4.
