Villanova secures commitment from 2026 prospect Carter Fisk

Kevin Willard has brought in a new guard, as 6’2” combo guard Carter Fisk has committed to play his first collegiate season with the Wildcats in 2026-27. The Baltimore, MD native has been on Villanova’s radar for some time now, with Fisk officially receiving an offer from the Wildcats on December 29, 2025.

Outside of schools such as Binghampton, Villanova beat most teams to the punch. As Fisk has been a late riser, he’s begun to receive offers from other Power Five schools such as Penn State, Ole Miss and Virginia Tech. He also holds offers from Coastal Carolina, Florida International, Loyola (MD), Albany and George Washington. All of those schools came in after Villanova, so the trust and belief built had to have been a big factor in Fisk’s decision.

As an unranked recruit on 247Sports, it’s hard to expect much in his first year. Especially given the depth and experience already committed to the backcourt, Fisk projects as a developmental guard for the future. With the looming “5 in 5” ruling, there shouldn’t be a need to redshirt this upcoming year. With how injuries can become a factor, as well as blowout situations, Fisk should still be able to get some playing time as a freshman.

Villanova’s roster currently stands at ten players, with the backcourt consisting of Elijah Crawford, Darryl Simmons II, Jake Fiegen, Adam Oumiddoch and Carter Fisk. This is likely the last guard to be added for the upcoming season.
