Syracuse men’s basketball: Orange to face Providence on December 19th

The 2026-27 Syracuse Men’s Basketball schedule is slowly coming into picture. We’ve got a solid list of opponents and now we’re getting a few more dates.

We know the Orange will face Indiana on November 9th and yesterday we learned that Syracuse and the Providence College Friars will meet in Boston’s TD Garden on Saturday December 19th.

The game will be part of the 2026 Hall of Fame Series as new head coaches Gerry McNamara and Bryan Hodgson meet in a battle of old Big East rivals. Playing the week before Christmas should lend to a pretty healthy dose of Orange in the Garden.

This will be the 2nd Hall of Fame Series game in Boston as UConn and Michigan will face off in a rematch of last year’s title game on November 2nd.

Syracuse and Providence last played in 2013 when the Orange won 84-59 behind 20 points from CJ Fair and James Southerland. The Orange lead the all-time series 48-13, winning the last 7 games between the two schools.

We don’t know the game time or broadcast schedule, but McNamara will return to an arena where he helped lead the 2003 Orange to two NCAA Tournament wins on their way to the school’s only National Championship.
