The San Antonio Spurs are in the NBA Finals for the first time since 2014, an eternity under the standard set by Gregg Popovich. If you want to see Game 1, it will cost you.
According to Gametime data as of Saturday evening, the get-in price for Wednesday’s series opener between the Spurs and New York Knicks currently sits at $1,905, with Game 2 on Friday starting at $2,044. That is a lot of money … until you see what fans in New York are paying for the first two Finals games at Madison Square Garden.

Game 3 on June 8: $4,112.
Game 4 on June 10: $3,722.
If you wanted to go to just the first four games of the NBA Finals, that adds up to $11,783.
The prices get even more ridiculous if you look at the median-priced tickets being sold. Those Spurs games jump to $3,452 and $3,832, while the Knicks games are $7,887 and $7,571. A $22,742 total.
And if they happen, Games 5 through 7 are slated to be even more expensive. The current median-priced ticket for Game 6 in New York is $10,995.

All of that will happen when the team in the NBA’s premier market reaches its first NBA Finals since 1999, in addition to the rush to see Victor Wembanyama play his first career NBA Finals.

Both teams impressed on their way to the Finals. The Spurs took on the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder and beat them in a series that lived up to the hype, with Wembanyama looking primed to take over as the face of the NBA.
The Knicks have run roughshod over the competition for two-and-a-half rounds, with a 14-game winning streak and the best 14-game point differential in NBA history.
It figures to be an intense Finals, and tickets are being priced accordingly.
