Virginia basketball announces 2026-27 conference opponents

The ACC conference opponents are signed, sealed, and delivered for the Virginia Cavaliers 2026-2027 season after an announcement was posted online by the official Virginia Men’s Basketball account. Times and dates are yet to be announced, but getting a glimpse at who the opponents will be will suffice for now.

Some story lines relvoving the ‘Hoos draw include Virginia Tech and Duke being the two teams they will face on the road and at John Paul Jones Arena, they will face Clemson at Littlejohn Coliseum after missing out on Brad Brownell and his Tigers completely last season, Wake Forest is a no show on the schedule, and last but certaintly not least is newly hired assistant coach at Virginia and former player and head coach of the Syracuse Orange will return to the JMA Wireless Dome to face his former team for the first time since his departure last season.

An overlooked and challenging part of this schedule will be the California trip week. The ‘Hoos were on the fortunate side of this last season as they got California and Stanford to travel to Charlottesville, but this season Ryan Odom and his squad will be making the trip across the country to face the Cardinal and the Golden Bears in the same week. North Carolina fell victim to this trip last year, losing both of their games on the West Coast back-to-back after being more than seven-point favorites in both of those matchups.

In the end, it is an exciting draw for the ’Hoos and one that poses a good mix of great tests, fun rivalry matchups, and ample opportunity to collect solid victories.
