There are few teams as beloved through Kentucky Basketball history as the 1991-1992 team, led by The Unforgettables – Richie Farmer, Sean Woods, Deron Feldhaus, and John Pelphrey.
Those four helped lead Kentucky Basketball through one of its roughest periods during probation and helped lead Kentucky to an Elite 8 appearance in 1992.

Pelphrey, a native of Paintsville, KY, was recently featured on the UK Sports Network Blue Bloods Series, and it’s worth taking some time to watch. Pelphrey talks about his playing career, the hiring of Rick Pitino, his senior night, and more.

“He said, ‘My goodness, look where you’ve taken me!’” Pelphrey said of his father. “He’s standing in the middle of Rupp Arena. So for me, I’m not good enough to have my jersey up there. I have literally been lifted up by so many people.
“Nobody more so than my parents.”
