Spartan fans everywhere have been on the edge of their seats awaiting the decision of point guard Jeremy Fears Jr.

Will he take his talents to the NBA, or will he return to Michigan State for another season?

Right now, no one truly knows what the standout guard will decide, but answers are coming soon. May 27 marks the final day players can withdraw from the NBA Draft and retain their college eligibility. If Fears keeps his name in the draft, he will officially close the door on his college career and begin the next chapter of his basketball journey. If he withdraws, however, he’ll return to a star-studded Michigan State roster that looks poised to make a serious run in the NCAA Tournament.

Recently, a major tweet circulated online showing how 10 different NBA executives voted on whether certain players should stay in the draft or return to college. The key word there is “should.” Executives, analysts, fans, and even the players themselves can only project what might be best. No one truly knows how things will unfold once a decision is made.

The grass always seems greener on the other side, but when players face a fork in the road like this, sometimes the best thing they can do is trust their instincts. Since none of us truly know what’s going through Fears’ mind, all we can do is evaluate the information currently available.

College basketball analyst Jeff Goodman, one of the more respected voices in the sport, shared a tweet explaining that he spoke with 10 different NBA executives about what certain players participating in the NBA Combine should do regarding the draft.

The results were eye-opening.

Christian Anderson: 10 NBA, 0 college

Allen Graves: 8 NBA, 2 college

Matt Able: 9 college, 1 NBA

Amari Allen: 10 college, 0 NBA

Jeremy Fears: 10 college, 0 NBA

Billy Richmond: 10 college, 0 NBA

Buried near the bottom of that list sits Fears.

Ten executives voted for him to return to college. Zero believed he should stay in the draft.

That’s notable…
